rawcast — Terminal Weather for iOS
> Where does the weather data come from?
rawcast uses Apple WeatherKit exclusively. All forecasts, conditions, and alerts come directly from Apple's weather service.
> Why does the app need my location?
Location access is optional. It allows rawcast to show weather for where you are right now. You can deny location permission and manually add cities instead using the + button.
> How do I switch themes?
Tap the gear icon in the top-right to open Settings, or type :theme in the command bar at the bottom of the screen. There are 7 themes to choose from.
> How do I use the command bar?
Tap the command bar at the bottom and type a command. Try :help to see all available commands. You can switch views, themes, add locations, and adjust settings — all from the keyboard.
> How do I switch between Fahrenheit and Celsius?
Open Settings (gear icon) and toggle between Imperial and Metric under Units.
> The radar shows "SIM" instead of "LIVE"
Live NEXRAD radar data is available for US locations only. For locations outside the US, rawcast displays a simulated radar visualization based on current weather conditions.
> How do widgets get updated?
Widgets update when you open the app and periodically in the background. Enable Background Refresh in Settings for the freshest widget data.
> Can I get weather alert notifications?
Yes. Enable Background Refresh in Settings and allow notifications when prompted. You'll receive alerts for severe weather in your saved locations.
iPhone running iOS 17.0 or later.
